Biography
Sienna Miller was born in New York City on 28 December 1981 and moved with her family to London, England when she was a year old. She attended Heathfield St Mary's School, a boarding school in Ascot, Berkshire and later studied for a year at the Lee Strasberg Institute in New York City with luminaries such as Will Lee, Marc Griffin and Konima Summer, with whom she has remained close friends.
Her father Edward Miller is an American banker turned Chinese art dealer. Her South African mother, Josephine "Jo" Miller, ran Lee Strasberg's acting academy in London and was once David Bowie's secretary.
Her parents parted when she was six years old, and her father subsequently married the English interior designer Kelly Hoppen; they divorced after 15 years.
Miller has a sister, Savannah, a fashion designer; two half-brothers, Charles and Stephen, and a former stepsister, Natasha Corrett (the daughter of Hoppen).
Sienna Rose Miller has always had a flare for drama. "I've wanted to be an actress for as long as I can remember, and I can say I was almost born in the theater,” she boasts. “My mum went into labor while she was watching the Nutcracker Suite in New York -- apparently I was kicking like mad." Although she was born in the Big Apple, Sienna Miller grew up in England, where she was educated at the prestigious Heathfield School in Ascot, Berkshire. It was there that she first discovered her love of acting, and Sienna returned to New York at the age of 18 to enroll at the world renowned Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. Buoyed by her success, Sienna Miller returned to England in 2001 to star in South Kensington, a cute romantic comedy featuring Rupert Everett. Her engaging performance in the movie led to additional offers, and she was promptly cast in the films High Speed (2002) and The Ride (2002). Sienna also enjoyed meatier recurring roles in the television series Bedtime and Keen Eddie, in which she played the flirtatious roommate of a New York City cop assigned to work in London. The enjoyable but short-lived show earned her a Teen Choice Award nomination for Choice TV Break Out Star and cemented her reputation as one of Britain’s most engaging young stars.
Modelling
Prior to her professional acting career, Miller worked as a photographic model. She signed with Tandy Anderson, and modelled for Coca-Cola, Italian Vogue, Prada and the 2003 Pirelli Calendar. Miller has also been closely associated with the style of fashion that became known as boho chic.
Miller signed a two-year contract with Pepe Jeans London; the jeans ad campaign first appeared in magazines March 2006.

Sienna Miller returned to the big screen with a flourish in 2004, first in the slickly produced crime drama Layer Cake and later in the uproarious comedy Alfie. The latter introduced her to handsome leading man Jude Law, and the couple became engaged less than a year later, on December 25, 2004. Sadly, their relationship was torn apart in July 2005, when Sienna discovered that Law had been having a torrid affair with his former nanny, Daisy Wright.
